Golf lessons in Cambridge
For all your golf coaching and lessons in the Cambridge, Peterborough & Huntingdon, visit the Cambridge Golf and Conference Centre. Video Lessons
A good way to start your golf training is with a video lesson. There are two types: golf swing and putting stroke. In a video lesson, we start by discussing your goals for your golf game. Then we take a video of your golf swing from 2-4 different angles. We slow the swing down and split screen it so we can synchronise it with a suitable tour player and make comparisons. We then draw lines on it to highlight areas which need work.
The next step is to work on improving your golf swing through swing drills and coaching techniques. Your swing is then repeatedly recorded to show improvements as you practice. Finally, your golf coach will give you drills to work on and we will email you a copy of one or all of the videos captured and notes on your swing. Alternately, we can copy the information onto a flash memory stick and provide a print out given of the drills for you to practice for next lesson.
The main benefit of a video lesson is that you can really see what the golf pro physically wants you to do. By using the screens and comparing your swing to that of a professional with a similar style, you can compare and contrast your movements and work out minute differences in movement which once modified, can make a vast difference in the quality of your golf swing.
All lessons include a basket of balls and equipment hire if required. Lessons are valid indefinitely and can be used for short game tuition and Tomi putting lab by using two of your lessons from your package. Lessons can be emailed to your address, printed out or downloaded to your flash memory stick allowing for review in the comfort of your own home.

Group golfing classes

Group classes allow a group of people to learn together. Ideally, they should be of similar ability to ensure that what is being taught is relevant to everyone in the class. Within group classes, we also take each member aside and video their swing to give them specifics to work on that relate to their particular needs.
Group lessons add an element of fun to learning the game but do not enable us to tailor the lessons to your individual needs. Ideally you may want to also book an individual lesson to build upon what you learn in your group lessons.
Performance Player’s Package
The Performance Player’s Package is perfect for the low handicap golfer. It is more intensive than just regular individual lessons and focuses on the finite detail of the golf swing and game. This detail may be a physical obstruction to improving their game, like core strength and stability, being overweight, lack of strength, etc, that prevents them from achieving their goals.
It could be their course management, taking unnecessary risks on the course, choice of clubs or type of shots being played that prevents improvement. This may require some playing lessons with golf professionals to see what decisions are being made on the course and where shots are being lost.

Golf Short Game Lessons and Clinics
The short game area allows the professional to help the golfer focus on the different elements of the short game, including chipping, putting and bunker play. Once shown the correct technique, the pupil can then spend time practicing these different golf shots and perfecting their game.

Tomi Putting Lab Analysis
(A superb bit of kit!)
This lesson includes a 15-minute stroke analysis on the Tomi equipment followed by half an hour on the putting green and then a further 15-minute analysis on the Tomi equipment. Golfers could be struggling due to their course management, taking unnecessary risks on the golf course, choice of clubs or type of shots being played. Playing lessons with golf professionals will help you to see what decisions are being made on the course and where shots are being lost. You would have a regular lesson first as the assessment would identify if playing lessons were required.
All golf lessons take place the Hemingford Abbots golf course next door and can cover any aspect of the game. We allow 2 hours to play 9 holes and assess your course strategy. This is a great way to help you take your game to the golf course and eliminate those needless shots or risks, resulting in lower scores in your next round.
